About Kandy:
Kandy literally the "City on the Hills" so named as it was protected by the nature - water, rocks and jungles. The last capital of the Sri Lankan kings before falling to the British in 1815 AD which is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures vision of splendour of magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. The centre of attraction is the golden roofed Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. The Kandy Lake built by the last King Sri Wickramarajasinghe in 1806 holds a prominent view of the City. It is a City for arts and crafts as well culture and history
Day 01: CHENNAI – COLOMBO – KANDY (Overnight Stay)
Departure from Chennai to Colombo by Sri Lankan Airlines UL 122 at 1030 hrs. Arrival Colombo at 1150 hrs. On arrival transfer to Kandy by Ac coach.
En route visit Pinnawela: visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - to enjoy seeing the largest herd of domestic elephants in Sri Lanka with animals of all ages including babies. Lunch will be given at Indian restaurant.
Arrive in Kandy situated 500 m above sea level Kandy is also known as hill country. Check in the hotel AMAYA HILLS (4 **** Category)
Evening at 17:30 hrs watch a cultural performance by traditional Kandyan Dancers and drummers including devotional "Fire Walking". Dinner and overnight at Kandy.
Day 02: KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA (Overnight Stay)
After breakfast at Hotel, proceed to City Tour of Kandy including the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Upper Lake Drive, Kandy Lake area and a Gem Museum. Around 1200 hrs check out the hotel and transfer to Nuwara - Eliya. Lunch at Indian restaurant.
En route visit the New Hanuman Temple at Pusellawa
Check in the hotel GRAND HOTEL (GOLF WING) (4**** Category). Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: IN NUWARA ELIYA (Overnight Stay)
After breakfast at Hotel, proceed to city tour and visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory to witness the manufacturing process of world famous "Ceylon Tea" and taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea, Visit the GAYATRI PEEDAM. Lunch at local restaurant. Dinner and overnight stay.

Colombo is a fascinating city, not only for its comfortable blend of East and West, but also for its exciting mixture of the past and the present .It is the Commercial Capital of the country, and is only 35 km south of the country's only International Airport. Many attractions, opportunities for shopping, availability of tasting a multitude of cuisine etc makes it an interesting city
Day 04: NUWARA ELIYA–COLOMBO (Overnight Stay)
After breakfast at hotel, check out the hotel and proceed to Colombo. Arrive Colombo check in the hotel GALADARI HOTEL (5 ***** Category). Lunch at local restaurant and around 1400 hrs proceed to Port bazaar area and Shopping at Odel Unlimited and House of Fashion etc. Dinner and overnight stay. |
